Information We Automatically Collect
As is true of most websites, as soon as you navigate to our Website, we automatically collect and store certain information from your computer or device, for example your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address in log files. We use this information for our internal analytics purposes, to diagnose problems with our servers, and to improve the quality, performance and functionality of the Website and relevance to our visitors. Unless prohibited by law, we may combine this automatically collected information with other personal information that you provide to us or that we may receive from third parties.

To any other person with your consent to the disclosure.
Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
- Tracking Technologies. As discussed below, we and our service providers may use third party tracking technologies including Google Analytics to collect certain information when you use our Website. Information on how to opt-out of Google Analytics is available here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Promotional Offers from the Alliance. If you do not want the Alliance to use your email address or other contact information to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by sending us an email stating your request to email@example.com. In addition, if we have sent you a promotional email, you may follow the unsubscribe instructions in the email. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your prior consent to the use of your personal information to send you marketing material about our own or third parties’ products or services.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information (EEA Visitors Only)
If you are a Website user from the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.
However, we will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you (e.g. your membership contract), (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms, or (iii) where we have your consent to do so. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you or may otherwise need the personal information to protect your vital interests or those of another person.
Where we collect and use your personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), those interests are the shared goal of promoting and driving the success of the LoRaWAN protocol as the leading open global standard for secure, carrier-grade IoT LPWAN connectivity.
If you have questions about or need further information concerning the legal basis on which we collect and use your personal information, please contact us using the contact details provided under the “Contact Us” heading below.
Changing/Modifying Your Information
You can change/modify information that you previously provided to the Alliance by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Alliance will retain your personal information for only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the Alliance collects and uses it (for example, to provide you with the service you have requested) and where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to comply with applicable legal, tax, or accounting requirements), unless the law permits that we retain it for longer. If you opt-out of receipt of promotional communications from us, we will retain your email address so that we can identify you as an individual that does not wish to receive such promotional communications from us. We will retain your email address for as long as we continue to offer the Website; if necessary to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights; and/or to comply with any applicable law or regulation.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Children Under Age 16
This Website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 16. If you are under age 16, do not use or provide any information through this Website. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please notify us immediately through one of the mechanisms on our Contact page.
Cookies and Similar Tracking Technology
Specifically, as soon as you navigate to our website, Google Analytics collects information automatically from you through the use of their analytics IDs, and Google provides some of this information to us. An analytics ID is a specific string of numbers and letters (often called a “character string”) that is assigned to your computer or device but does not name you. The analytics ID allows Google to track your behavior and automatically collect data about your visit such as: date and time of visit, duration of visit, Website traffic patterns and “clickstreams,” other similar information about your use of our Website, type of web browser used, the operating system/platform you are using, your IP address, the websites from which you linked to our Website, and your Central Processing Unit (“CPU”) speed. Google Analytics may provide this information to us, but all information provided to us will be in aggregate form (i.e., data about many Website users combined and not just about you) and will be about the use of our Website. Some of this data might include the regional location of the users of our Website, but again, this data will be in aggregate (and not individual) form. We may use information we receive from Google Analytics to learn how users are using the Website and to improve the Website. The Alliance will not receive any information that personally identifies you from Google Analytics, and the Alliance will not receive the analytics ID assigned to your computer or device.

How We Keep Your Personal Information Secure
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to keep the personal information that we collect and process about you secure. These measures are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information and include: requiring staff to protect confidential information, use of a private network protected with firewalls, antivirus software, devices to detect and prevent intrusion attempts, and requiring multiple security steps before accessing information and tracking of access. Data security is an evolving risk, so we regularly monitor the threats to data and adjust our security measures as appropriate to adapt to these. However, you should understand that no organization or its systems can ever be guaranteed to be 100% secure all the time, and so you use the Website and our services at your own risk.
Information Stored in United States
Your use of the Website may involve your personal information being transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country (and, in some cases, may not be as protective).
Specifically, we are headquartered in the United States, and this is where our servers are based. This means that if you use our Website and if we collect your personal information through the means described in this Statement, your personal information will be processed by us and our third party IT service providers and administration service providers in the United States, which (in the absence of an adequacy decision from the EU Commission or similar body from another country or territory) may not have the same level of data protection as in your country. However, we have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal information will remain protected in accordance with this Statement.
Your Data Protection Rights
If you are a resident in certain territories (such as, but not limited to, the European Economic Area), subject to applicable local law, you have the following data protection rights:
- If you wish to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information, you can do so at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided under the “Contact Us” heading below.
- In addition, you can object to processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict processing of your personal information, or request portability of your personal information. Again, you can exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details provided under the “Contact us” heading below.
- You have the right to opt-out of marketing communications we send you at any time. You can exercise this right by clicking on the “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” link in the marketing emails we send you. Alternatively, to opt-out of email and/or other forms of marketing (such as postal marketing or telemarketing), please contact us by sending us an email stating your request to email@example.com.
- Similarly, if we have collected and process your personal information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
- If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information. For more information, please contact your local data protection authority. (Contact details for data protection authorities in the European Economic Area are available here.)
We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Before responding to your request, we may ask you to verify your identity and/or provide further details about your request.
We provide the facility to opt out of marketing communications and to change or modify your personal information, regardless of your residency, as outlined in this Statement.

You should exercise caution when deciding to disclose information through these public areas of the Website.
